Ask Bit to build a table
Bit is Baseloop's assistant. Tell it who you want to reach or what you want to know, and it builds the table for you: it finds the companies or people, adds the columns that enrich them, and runs them. You stay in charge: Bit asks before it builds anything big.
Start a chat
On Home, describe what you want in the chat box, for example "Find heads of sales at software companies in Germany with 50 to 500 employees". Attach a CSV, a PDF or a spreadsheet with the paper clip if Bit should work from it.

Choose how Bit works with the menu next to the send button:
Auto: builds small changes right away, and plans big work first.
Plan: always discusses before building.

Send it.
Answer Bit's questions
When something matters, Bit asks first, with options to pick from. Click one, or Something else… to answer in your own words.

Approve the plan
Before building, Bit shows its plan: the tables and columns it will create and what each one does. Read it, then click Approve to let Bit build, or Decline. To change something, reply in the chat: Bit revises the plan and asks again.

How you'll know it worked
Bit works through the plan step by step; the plan card reads Plan complete when it's done. Bit then sums up what it built, shows the tables, and suggests Next steps you can send with one click (or edit first). Click Go to table to open one.

Ask about a table you're in
On any table, the bar at the bottom reads Ask Bit about and the table's name. Click it or press ⌘J to ask about this table: add a column, explain a result, fix failed cells. With rows selected, Bit works on those rows.

Your chats stay under Recent → Chats in the sidebar, and behind the clock button next to the bar.
If something goes wrong
Bit answered but didn't build anything. It's in Plan mode, or the work was big enough to plan first. Read the plan and click Approve.
My message shows as queued. Bit is still working on the last one. It reads the queued message next; click Cancel queued message to take it back.
Bit asks me to connect an account. The task needs one, such as HubSpot or LinkedIn. Click the card's button to connect it, then tell Bit to continue.
I want Bit to stop. Click Stop response (the square in the chat box).
Does Bit use credits? Yes. Bit's own work uses credits from your organization's balance, more for a long research or build than for a quick question, and the columns it runs use credits like any column you run yourself. The plan shows which columns it will run.
